Wednesday 13th May – Windsurf ** River Orwell at Levington – sunshine and showers.

Foil – 20.57 knot max, 18.29 knot ave., 4.23 knot hour, 15.25 knot mile, 13.90 km., 14.31 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Tushingham Bolt 5.75m.

After giving windsurfing a miss yesterday despite it being sunny I was keen to try today with a good westerly forecast but sadly showers were moving through :( With high water around 9.30 I headed over to Levington Marina arriving at nine but I have lost a bit of my windsurfing mojo at the moment all take setting up and packing up can be a chore! It was not very inviting on the Orwell with a huge black cloud approaching up the river, I had just set up my foil board when the first shower arrived! So I got back in the van and had a drive around the marina taking some pics to send to the telly! The rain passed and the sun did make an appearance in patches, it looked breezy out on the water so rigged my 5.75 which proved ideal to start with and I had a few good runs before a couple more showers arrived and the wind went really patchy so I decided to call it a day, shower and head for home in time to have lunch with Mag. The weather continued to be all over the place with wind from 10 to 30 30 knots and more rain nut Mag and I managed a walk down along the prom where the sun made an appearance before doing the full length of the town to get a few bits!
